Position Overview:
The IT Support Specialist 1 position will support internal and external users on Bluestone IT systems and our in-house developed patient portal. This position will be an integral part of the IT Team providing first level support to users and will hold primary responsibility of managing company IT assets. Other duties include providing assistance on the use of computer hardware and software including: printing, installation, word processing, email, and operating systems.
Schedule: Full time position, day shift hours, no evenings, weekends or holidays. Hours are 8am to 5pm Monday thru Thursday & 8am to 3pm on Fridays.
Location: Stillwater, MN office with flexibility for occasional work from home
Salary: $23.00 - $27.00/hr, Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate records of all IT Assets (Hardware & Software)
- Track the lifecycle of assets and ensure delivery to and from end users
- Employee equipment setup, perform and ensure proper installation of operating systems and appropriate software.
- Answer calls and questions on our external Help Desk Line
- Troubleshoot and resolve post setup and other user issues on a variety of software and hardware platforms.
- Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems.
- Assist with proper security/compliance of all end-user devices.
- Assist with development of training materials and procedures; train users in the proper use of hardware and software.
- Address support requests in a timely manner, recording and tracking issue resolution.
- Perform preventative maintenance on computers, including installation of security patches and other important updates when automated techniques fail.
- Provide remote user support using a variety of methods including phone, video, and remote control applications.
- Research and resolve user issues via phone, email, IM, in person, ticket system, and through 3rd party vendors.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification/Experience
- Two year degree in an IT related field; and some IT experience preferred
- Experience installing and configuring hardware components, operating systems, and applications
- Comptia A+, Network+, Security+ certifications preferred
- Demonstrated experience solving technical problems independently
- Demonstrated experience using diagnostic and analytical skills to resolve both hardware and software based technical problems
- Experience working with Active Directory and GSuite
- Excellent customer service and time management skills
- Extensive understanding of smartphones, tablets, specifically iPhones and iPads
- Highly organized with ability to multitask, quickly change direction and prioritize under pressure.
- Ability to work independently; self-motivated
- Creative problem solving skills
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with strong verbal and written skills
- Demonstrated compatibility with Bluestone’s mission and operating philosophies
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
