Fort Health is a child and adolescent mental health company that is on a mission to broaden access to quality, affordable, and evidence-based mental health services. We treat children, adolescents aged 4 to 19 with mild to moderate conditions including anxiety, depression, ADHD and other mood disorders. We are built in partnership with the Child Mind Institute which is the leading non-profit dedicated to advancing mental health for children and adolescents.

We work hand-in-hand with pediatricians to provide psychotherapy and medication management for their patients, as well as support the families with educational materials and caregiver training (digital classes combined with group or individual therapy). We also deliver Collaborative Care, including consulting psychiatry and care coordination to pediatricians and their patients.

POSITION OVERVIEW

As one of Fort’s consulting Psychiatrists you will have the opportunity to help deliver patient care and/or to work with our care team and pediatric partners to deliver psychiatrist consultations. You will also work with members from other parts of the org to enhance our product/services, with the ultimate goal of improving outcomes for children and adolescents ages 4-19 with mild to moderate mental health issues.

The psychiatric consultant supports the collaborative care team—primary care provider, patient, and behavioral health care manager through regular consultation on an assigned caseload of patients. The psychiatric consultant advises the primary care provider on appropriate medications and other treatment strategies, also providing the care team with educational support on diagnosing and managing behavioral health conditions.

The base wage for this position is targeted at $250.00 per hour on a 1099 Consultant basis

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Work with a team of MDs, NPs, and clinicians to provide effective and evidence based treatment to our patients
  • Traditional psychiatric services - diagnostic evaluation, medication management, and on-going monitoring
  • Collaborative care model - work with a team of clinicians and care coordinators to consult and advise pediatricians on behavioral health
  • issues in their patient population
  • Able to work a limited, part-time schedule with possibility to ramp up as we grow

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Board certified child psychiatrist with an active license in New Jersey
  • A minimum of 2 years of clinically relevant experience treating children and adolescents in a variety of settings
  • A minimum of 1 year providing medication management service to child and adolescent patients with substantial competence in
  • psychopharmacology
  • Understanding of Collaborative Care a bonus
  • Must have reliable, high-speed internet access with minimum speeds of 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload

REPORTING
The incumbent reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer who will also assign projects, provide general direction and guidance. Incumbent is expected to perform duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision.
