Description

Location: The Community Outreach Coordinator position is a remote position in North Dakota and can be based out of Bismarck, Fargo, Grand Forks, Minot, or Williston.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week

Compensation: $55,000 - $75,000 annually

The Role:

The field-based Community Outreach Coordinator (COC) will work in North Dakota at the state level, and at the county/local level where Ideal Option has clinics. The COC will work to build awareness of Ideal Option’s services and relationships with organizations and individuals with the goal of generating new patient referrals for treatment, significantly contributing to the opioid response in each community.

The COC will manage and grow our community partnerships in North Dakota. The COC will use face-to-face outreach, email and phone outreach, community meetings and events, open houses, sponsorships, and field marketing events.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Develop strategic outreach plans for each community where Ideal Option is located.
  • Implement outreach activities and develop and implement partnerships.
  • Represent Ideal Option on outside committees, attend conferences and seminars, provide education to individuals and organizations on Ideal Option and medication-assisted treatment.
  • Report weekly on community outreach programs and opportunities for community engagement
  • Gather, interpret, and evaluate data to ensure growth objectives are being met.
  • Maintain a pipeline of potential partnerships with organizations such as jails, hospitals, inpatient treatment, primary care providers, law enforcement, and behavioral healthcare providers.
  • Provide support to community organizations involved in the opioid response or substance misuse prevention.
  • Maintain an understanding of local and county government leadership and activities.
  • Assess new areas for potential clinic expansion and assist with outreach, location evaluation, and recruitment marketing.
  • Supervision and management of one or more peer outreach specialists.

Requirements

Desired Requirements:

  • Must reside in North Dakota: Bismarck, Fargo, Grand Forks, Minot, or Williston areas.
  • At least 3 years of experience in coordinating and organizing community outreach activities, preferably related to substance use prevention or treatment.
  • Familiarity with existing law enforcement assisted diversion programs, crisis intervention programs, correctional facilities, drug courts, drug treatment, and drug abuse prevention/education organizations.
  • Existing relationships with legislators and public officials at the state, county, and city level.
  • Understanding of the evidence base for addiction treatment and familiarity with the nature and history of the opioid epidemic.
  • Experience in coordinating and organizing trainings, partnership building, networking with agencies and organizations, and community outreach.
  • Experience in strategic communications planning, health promotion, social marketing, and/or behavior change communication.
  • Experience in community engagement, information dissemination, and development of informational materials, presentations.
  • Experience in data gathering, interpretation, and evaluation.
  • Strong interpersonal and group presentation communications skills and writing skills.
  • Computer skills with MS Office.
  • Project management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Driver's license and personal vehicle (mileage will be reimbursed).
Salary Description
55,000 - 75,000
