Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician

Compensation: $36/hr - $40/hr
Schedule: Full-Time, Day shift. Mon - Fri, rotating Saturdays. Hours to be determined.

We are looking for a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician to join our growing team and help us in our vision to give back lives, reunite families, and heal communities that are suffering from the devastating effects of substance use disorder.
The Role:
As part of the laboratory team, The Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician performs a variety of waived, moderate and high complexity testing in a laboratory setting in adherence to regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing in areas of hematology, molecular, chemistry, and immunology
- Follows standard operating procedures and ensures laboratory safety, quality, and regulatory requirements are met
- Makes independent decisions relating to patient testing and prioritization of testing
- Orders laboratory supplies and necessities to maintain appropriate level of inventory
- Serves as a laboratory resource to other healthcare personnel
- Collaborates with other departments across the organization
- Assists in the investigation of sample issues and submits appropriate documentation
- Assists in the development and implementation of new methods, instrumentation, or revised assays
- Complies with national PHI laws including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2
- Maintains continual sustained attendance
- Completes 16 hours of Ideal Option approved CE's annually
- Performs other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION
Required: Associate’s degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution
EXPERIENCE
Required: 2 years of diagnostic laboratory experience
Preferred: 5+ years of diagnostic laboratory experience
LICENSES/CERTIFICATION
Required: ASCP MLS/MLT or equivalent
