Software Quality Engineer II to join our team. In this role, the QE II will be responsible for leading quality assurance efforts, designing and implementing test strategies, delivering and maintaining test automation, and ensuring the reliability and performance of our software products, including workflow-based business applications. QE II will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive quality initiatives and contribute to the delivery of exceptional software solutions.
QE II will be part of a team of experienced Quality Engineers responsible for bug-free software delivery by performing smoke testing, functional testing, regression testing, and automation-first testing for software products and workflow automation solutions. QE II should be extremely proficient in automation testing, test automation tools, and QA testing tools for managing and executing test cases, tracking bugs, and reporting status. QE II should have proven experience leading and mentoring other Quality Engineers.
Duties & Responsibilities:
As Quality Engineer II, below will be your key responsibilities:
- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and automated test cases to ensure the quality and reliability of software products, including workflow-driven applications.
- Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open-source tools.
- Ensure version control of QA Automation code and implementation of best practices with code quality. Provide product team overviews on overall product and software quality.
- Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.
- Validate end-to-end business workflows, user tasks, decision logic, integrations, approvals, handoffs, and exception handling across workflow-based applications.
- Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, and smoke testing using automation testing techniques.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites and frameworks to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with product owners, software engineers, platform configuration teams, and other stakeholders to define requirements, identify acceptance criteria, and prioritize testing efforts.
- Partner with business and technology teams to understand process flows, user roles, business rules, data dependencies, and workflow routing that impact test coverage.
- Identify, document, and track software defects and issues using bug tracking systems, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication of findings.
- Liaise with internal teams (e.g. engineers and product owners) to identify system requirements and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Participate in story grooming, design discussions, code reviews, and sprint planning meetings to provide input on quality-related matters and ensure alignment with quality standards.
- Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved, including validation of impacted workflows, integrations, and downstream processes. Participate in different Agile ceremonies like Daily Stand Up, Story refinement, Sprint review, retrospectives, PI Planning, etc.
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in software quality assurance.
