External Marketing Manager

Position Summary:

Guides and develops a client marketing function. Contributes to strategic planning and is accountable for the overall success of the function. Responsible for execution, client satisfaction, and ensuring all deliverables are on-time and within budget. Serves as a Subject Matter Expert and team resource, the team's over-arching project manager, and primary point of contact for communication between internal teams.

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manages the activities of the function and coaches, mentors, motivates, supports, and helps develop a team of individual contributors and/or supervisors. Manages and/or supports performance management/corrective action plans, goal setting/review, regular guidance and 1-1 check ins, career development/planning, upskilling, resource allocation, staffing, DE&I initiatives, and other People & Culture programs/activities as needed. Fosters accountability and collaboration to ensure team member and overall team success.
  • Oversees maintenance of internal and client reporting, scheduling, resourcing, and coordination of meetings/presentations.
  • Monitors project timelines and ensures that team members have what they need to complete projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Fosters client relationships based on trust and mutual understanding.
  • Identifies and implements opportunities to grow and improve efficiencies. Guides operational processes and procedures to ensure deliverables maintain high quality standards.
  • Partners on the development and planning of strategic marketing initiatives that meet business, client, and sales goals. Responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations, internal policies, and client contracts.
  • Partners cross-functionally to generate and/or direct creative and effective concepts for a variety of marketing campaigns and initiatives across multiple clients.
  • Utilizes best practices, research, and historical performance data to ensure each client strategy and all deliverables are data-informed.
  • Stays up to date on the latest marketing trends/technologies and advises the team on new opportunities to test, refine, and innovate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field or equivalent
  • 5+ years of relevant experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role
  • Experience overseeing marketing initiatives from strategy to implementation and beyond
  • Strong project-management skills with the ability to delegate to and support junior team members
  • Skillful technology skills including experience utilizing Microsoft Office, including Work, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong data and research skills including the ability to use and interpret data/performance metrics
  • Sharp interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Advanced knowledge of marketing best practices
  • Strong organization, problem-solving, and detail orientation skills with the proven ability to guide daily operations while keeping focus on strategic priorities
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred

  • Agency experience
  • Health care/systems marketing experience

Working Conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in normal office working conditions.

The hiring range for this position is:

$72,800.00-$97,400.00
