Position:

Sr. Accountant

Position Summary:

Maintains and controls the general ledger accounts and is essential to the operations of the Finance Department. Prepares financial statements and assists with the generation and preparation of complex monthly financial reports. Serves as the first line of defense for accounting issues and adherence to internal controls. Trains, supports, and shares knowledge with junior team members.

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Utilizes strong accounting knowledge to prepare journal entries by maintaining records and files. Prepares complex reconciliations for month-end close.
  • Reconciles complex balance sheet accounts for various financial statement areas.
  • Assists in preparation of weekly Cash Forecast.
  • Prepares weekly and monthly Bank Reconciliations. Provides problem-solving support to junior team members.
  • Assists with with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
  • Works directly with external auditors to assist and support financial statement, SOC 1 and SOC 2 audits.
  • Tracks Capital Expenditures and maintains depreciation schedule.
  • Participates in internal control initiatives, including compliance with monthly control procedures and process documentation.
  • Identifies problems and recommends solutions and process improvement opportunities across the team.
  • Guides and/or contributes to complex cross-functional projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/related field or equivalent
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role
  • Strong understanding of Accounting and financial operations best practices, including financial records-keeping procedures
  • Sharp communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Ability to support implementing process improvements and initiatives
  • Ability to impact results, oversee and prioritize workload, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and respond to changing demands/timelines
  • Strong interpersonal, research, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret, conceptualize, and disseminate data/regulations/information in a readily understandable manner
  • Effective training and mentoring skills
  • Required to pass a credit check

Preferred:

  • Experience with NetSuite

Working Conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in normal office working conditions.

The hiring range for this position is:

$72,800.00-$97,400.00
