Associate Director, Physician Marketing

Position Overview:

We seek a dynamic and strategic Associate Director of Healthcare Professional Marketing with a proven track record in the medical device/pharma and/or diagnostics industry. The ideal candidate will lead the development and execution of marketing strategies targeting healthcare professionals to drive product adoption and market penetration. While the role will shift to overseeing the Octave Precision Medicine Platform over time, it will initially focus on the MSDA (Multiple Sclerosis Disease Activity) test.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategy Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with business objectives and market trends.
  2. Healthcare Professional Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to gain insights and support the adoption of our products.
  3. Content Development: Oversee the creation of high-quality marketing materials, including educational resources, presentations, and clinical evidence, tailored to healthcare professionals’ needs, highlighting the value of Octave offerings.
  4. Campaign / Agency management: Lead the planning and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns targeting healthcare professionals, utilizing digital, print, and in-person channels.
  5. Market Analysis: Use a data-driven approach to conduct thorough market analysis and competitor research to identify opportunities for differentiation and growth within the medical device and diagnostics landscape.
  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, product development, regulatory affairs, finance, partner success, and other teams to ensure alignment and execution of marketing strategies.
  7. Budget Management: Manage marketing budget effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to maximize ROI and achieve business objectives.
  8. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all marketing materials and activities comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in marketing roles within the medical device, pharma, or diagnostics industry, with some direct leadership experience preferred.
  • Neuroscience experience is preferred.
  • Portfolio responsibility (more than 1 asset) is a plus
  • Digital asset campaign development and lead generation experience is a plus
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies targeting healthcare professionals, including positioning and messaging constructs
  • Strong understanding of healthcare market dynamics, including the reimbursement landscape and legal and regulatory partner engagement.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and drive results through influence and persuasion.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willing to roll up sleeves and engage the sales team and external customers to learn best practices to enable continued long-term growth.

Location:

This position is based at our Menlo Park, CA headquarters, and occasional travel is required.
