Director, Data Engineering (McLean, VA) – Telecommuting Permissible with the Washington, DC metropolitan area (multiple positions). Lead teams to deliver new and enhanced data products that are highly performant and scalable to drive consumption of data from a variety of sources, while driving data engineering best practices. Work on small to mid-sized and cross-functional IT and business intelligence solutions. Lead in the workstream planning process including inception, technical design, development, testing and delivery of data engineering solutions leveraging a range of cloud technologies such as SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Logic Apps and Event Hubs. Manage, mentor and grow Data Engineers with design assistance, code review and ensuring best practices. Set and maintain technical design and build standards and best practices for integrations and data engineering services including but not limited to - security, privacy/compliance, development of data pipelines, configuring cloud services to optimize costs, error handling and support management. Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, and two (2) years’ work experience in the job offered or a related position in a value-based kidney care enterprise. Must have two (2) years of experience in each: 1) Analyzing internal predictive analysis models to forecast the progression of chronic kidney disease patients into end stage kidney disease; 2) Designing relational databases, fulfilling integration with software, and employing Object-Relational Mapping (ORM); 3) Protecting PHI and ensuring secure communication channels for transfer of data; 4) Managing SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL, in query writing and data manipulation; and 5) Analyzing complex healthcare datasets, generating reports with PowerBI.
