Job Description
To provide support and leadership on a wide range of projects with a focus on evidence synthesis (i.e., structured/targeted literature reviews, systematic literature reviews, indirect treatment comparison feasibility assessments, and health technology assessment landscape/gap assessments). Other projects may include health economics and/or value communications projects as well as working alongside other team members and clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project-related
- Provide leadership to ensure projects are underpinned by strong and defendable evidence synthesis concepts and methods
- Execute projects that meet client expectations
- Determine and manage project scope, timelines, and budgets across multiple projects
- Set project scope, strategy, and timelines
- Delegate activities to and supervise junior staff and contractors
- Oversee projects with guidance from senior management
- Empower project team members to take accountability for their work
- Identify and resolve project team issues and conflicts
- Proactively manage scope changes, risks, and contingency plans
- Oversee and implement quality control activities
- Ensure timely project billing
Methodological-related
- Serve as an evidence synthesis expert for internal and external stakeholders
- Develop evidence synthesis plans and support complex analyses (e.g., meta-analyses, indirect treatment comparisons) to support HTA submissions and/or market access/HEOR activities
- Interpret and report synthesis results for non-statistical audiences
- Support junior team in developing methodological expertise and professional skills
Client-related
- Develop reports, abstracts, posters, and presentations
- Support or lead proposal development and delivery to clients
- Lead client meetings independently
- Begin developing and maintaining a personal client base
- Support business development activities (e.g., capability presentations, repeat business)
- Seek and incorporate client feedback to ensure satisfaction
Company-related
- Identify and support development of best practices and tools for project execution, people management, and training
- Contribute to company-level decisions on direction, staffing, and workload
- Identify needs for additional staff or consultants
- Participate in early hiring activities, including application review and interviews
- Provide one-on-one mentorship to new employees
- Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Identifying and resolving issues/conflicts within project teams
- Providing effective mentorship to develop new managers and leaders
- Responsible for and oversee their respective department.
- Interview, select and supervise the activities of the department staff; communicate interpret and discuss with team the company policies and procedures.
- Determine job objectives, work methods and performance standards; review performance relative to departmental objectives discussion appraisal with each employee and performance; authorize and communicate salary changes, promotions, transfers, discipline, and discharge and administer all other personnel actions.
Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.
- PhD or MSc in medical-related field such as biology, epidemiology, pharmacology, or health economics OR direct work experience in health research, health economics, or a related field
- A minimum of six-to-seven (6-7) years’ direct evidence synthesis work experience in health research, health technology assessment, market access or a related field
- Strong basis in fundamental evidence synthesis concepts and methods and familiarity with techniques such as feasibility assessments, meta-analysis, indirect comparisons, network meta-analysis, etc.
- Technically competent with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Provide leadership to ensure projects are underpinned by rigorous processes and defendable methods
- Ensure projects adhere to high standards of evidence synthesis
- Strong strategic, critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking capabilities
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a sometimes high-pressure environment
- Ability to adapt to shifting internal and client-related priorities/timelines
- Ability to manage personal and project team members’ time across competing projects
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Ability to effectively interact and communicate with peers, senior management, and clients

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience analyzing data from clinical trials and/or real-word evidence
- Proven project and staff management skills; a minimum of three (3) years’ experience managing projects and staff preferred
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, demands, and timelines in a fast-paced environment
- Proven relationship building capabilities; developing and maintaining strong client relationships, effectively interacting with peers
- Strong written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
